About the Chef & Culinary Experience
My name is Maasai, a personal chef who was born and raised in New York City, and I am an Angeleno(a), after making Los Angeles my home for over 20 years. I've been interested in the culinary arts since my early 20's when I discovered a natural talent for creating tasty dishes. Since 2016, I have periodically lived abroad and/or traveled for long periods of time. Currently, I live abroad in the Caribbean, and South and Central America.
Having a free spirited curious adventurous personality with some years of travel and eating experience impacted the recipes I create. I am influenced by the many dishes eaten and enjoyed in NYC, Western Europe, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and Asia, including, classic American favorites. Lastly, I'm also a fine artist (a designer and abstract painter).
As a chef, I bring personal creative imagination and different cuisines together to prepare tasty and reasonably healthy dishes (always striving to use the healthiest ingredients available) at an affordable cost for a private chef service.
